What people say

We stayed at the Tjiong townhouse. As guests of a townhouse, we got a complimentary tour of the Blue Mansion by Sally (I hope I’m spelling well her name). We were already delighted with the Blue Mansion and the townhouse but after Sally’s enthusiastic sharing of the fantastic history of the Mansion, the life of Cheong Fatt Tze and the principles of Feng Shui we definitely fell in love with the place and Georgetown. We feel privileged and honoured for having stayed at the Tjiong and having visited the Blue Mansion for breakfast and a swimming pool. Thanks to the love of the conservationists, future generations will be able to experience the magic of these places. We are forever grateful to the people who developed and worked on these projects and to the staff that daily takes very good care of the guests. Thank you!

I’m so glad we had an opportunity to stay 4 nights at the Town House (2 bed) and get a taste of George Town’s heritage. The house is really well placed to explore. The property was equipped to make our stay comfortable and beautifully restored. The house was much more spacious than we expected and less noisy than you’d think for being in town. The staff were accommodating, breakfast at the main hotel, the Blue Mansion, hit the spot too. All in all, great experience.

Probably the coolest place I’ve ever stayed. We stayed in the Zhang Townhouse, which isn’t actually at the mansion (about a 10 minute walk), but we thought the townhouse location was better, and the room (over 2 floors) was enormous. They supplied a very good cot for our 1 year old, and she enjoyed exploring the room. We also made use of the kitchenette to make her food. We stayed three nights in the townhouse and then one night at the mansion to finish our stay with the hotel. Overall, we preferred the townhouse, but also thought it was fun to get both experiences. Breakfast was also quite good, I especially liked the roti canai and pancakes.
